Det var min mammas födelsedag. Hon fyllde 50 år. Det var alltså för 35 år sedan. 

Det var vår och mitt högra öga hade svullnat igen och börjat rinna och svida. Jag var inte särskilt bekymrad över det. Eftersom jag varit förskonad från både sjukdomar och allergier tänkte jag att det nog skulle gå över. Det gör ju det mesta man drabbas av och om inte annat så kommer sjukvården att fixa det. De gav mig någon salva och ögondroppar ifall det var så att jag drabbats av någon allergi. 

När svullnaden gått ner och jag började kunna öppna ögat upptäckte jag att jag ingenting såg. Allt var bara grå-svart. Jag tittade rakt mot en lampa, men det var bara mörkt. Fortfarande hade jag inställningen att det nog skulle gå över. Mycket riktigt, efter någon månad började jag gradvis se på ögat. Färgseendet kom också sakta men säkert. Nu ser jag som genom en regnig glasruta när jag tittar på enbart höger öga. Men med båda ögonen öppna märker jag inget av det. Ni ser, allt går faktiskt över och livet rullade vidare. Jag hade ingen aning om vad det här var början på, så jag levde glatt vidare med livet.
